BROCHO RECAPABLES- Part Four

Saturday morning over achiever alert:

At this point in the morning I was trying to un-taco myself out of my partially deflated air mattress.  So pretty much the same physical exertion.

The birthday boy, Chris, was dead set on cooking breakfast for everyone.  There were plentiful eggs, bacon, sausage and waffles. It was the best birthday gift he could have gotten us.

OPENING CEREMONIES

The tradition continues!

PROP BETS:
  • Rose funnel speed. Over/ Under 4.5 seconds: Over

EVENT ONE- BEER PONG

Excitement mixed w/ mild hangovers were in the air as the games officially started.  The official pooch of Brolympic VIII, Charlie, made this this event even more challenging.  He was tracking down errant shots like Kramer at the US Open.  Unfortunate for one of our competitors, a bounce found Charlie square in the taint, and we can't be certain that the rinse cup is a sanctioned disinfectant. #bitterdogtaintface

Mike w/ his signature follow through.

Weaver with an aggressive toss.

Ball. Location. Too many jokes.

SHOT RESULTS:

Team Fugate                         Team Erno
Nate- 2                                    Mike E.- 3
Ant- 4                                      Rose- 0
Lewis- 4                                  Chris- 1
Mike M.- 2                              Weav- 3
Ty- 3                                        Chad- 4

Last years runner ups set the tone and take down the first event of the day!

PROP BETS:

  • Event MVP- Lewis (three-way tie for most shots, but Lewis played good defense on Charlie...it's the intangibles)
  • Most Sunk Shots by One Person. Over/Under 4.5- Under

TEAM FUGATE 1 - TEAM ERNO 0

EVENT TWO- HORSE SHOES/ EVENT THREE- CORNHOLE

In an attempt to keep the trains running on time, Horseshoes and Cornhole were played simultaneously.  BSPN's sideline reporters listed the surface temperature at three times a reptile's heat rock. To say it was hot would be an understatement.

The first corn hole match up had Ty and Mike M. vs. Chad and Mike E.  Somehow with the quote board and the official stat book, and keeping track of ringers/ sunk shots, we still didn't keep track of game scores. Based on sunk shots, I believe Mike E. and Chad smoked Ty and Motz. Mike E. had an event high 8 sunk shots in that round.

The second match up had Lewis and Anthony vs. Rose and Chris.  Based on sunk shots, this one looks like it went to Lewis and Anthony, but it should have been a close match up.

The rubber match pitted Nate and Ty versus Weaver and Lentz.  Chad and Weaver put this event away with relative ease, giving the champs their first victory of the day.

SUNK SHOTS:

Team Fugate                     Team Erno
Deluca- 5                            Chris- 2
Fugate- 2                            Mike E.- 8
Lewis- 4                             Lentz- 7
Motz- 3                              Rose- 4
Nate- 1                               Weav- 3

PROP BETS:
  • Most Sunk Shots- Mike E.
  • Most Sunk Shots. Over/ Under 12.5: Under
  • MVP: Chad
The flip was in full effect.

Coming in low and hot.

During the course of these two events, competitors occasionally disappeared.  Heat was beginning to become a factor.

Charlie, also official lifeguard of the Brocho.

Motz found a tiny sliver of shade while waiting his turn.

While others took a load off inside...and became an answer to a prop bet.

Back to the action- There was a lot of skin showing from this end of the competition. #nsfw

The beverages were flowing freely on the shed side of the event.

 The commish tossing some heat.

Chris face timing w/ his daughter to get his forgotten bowling ball ready for an emergency pick up.

Like corn hole, there is no record of game scores. Seriously, who's in charge of this bush league, amateur bullshit.

Round one pitted Lewis/ Nate vs. Chris/ Rose.  Round Two pitted Ty/ Anthony vs. Weaver/ Chad. I have no memory of the round three of Motz/Lewis vs. Mike E./ Chris, but it must have happened, as Motz is listed as throwing a ringer.

EDITORIAL NOTE- this is the point when I texted you all for help. Weaver confirmed game three was played and that Lewis knocked Chris on for a ringer and the W.  (and thus earning his MVP)

RINGERS MADE:

Team Fugate                Team Erno
Anthony- 0                    Chris- 2
Ty- 1                              Mike- 0
Lewis- 3                        Chad- 1
Motz- 1                         Rose- 1
Nate- 0                          Weav- 0

PROP BETS:
  • First Ringer: Chris
  • Most Ringers: Lewis
  • Most Ringers in One Game. Over/Under 3.5: Under
  • MVP: Lewis
TEAM FUGATE 1 - TEAM ERNO 2

Mid-event emergency bowling ball delivery MVP.

EVENT FOUR- PITCHERS DUEL HOME RUN DERBY
Event four finds the champs up 2-1 for the day in an event that they have a 4-3 historical advantage in.  For the first time ever, we tried to play everything with the exception to bowling, at Bro HQ. As eluded to in the humorous event header, our dimensions for HR Derby may have been a tad ambitious. If you love small ball, than this is the HR Derby for you.

Chris hit a solo shot in round 2...and then it was quiet until Nate came up in round 5 for Team Fugate.  He was able to tie it up, but Mike E. was able to eke two over the fence in the bottom of round 5 for the event victory.  A more hitters friendly park will be set up next year.  Expect fireworks. (and we're not talking about Santa D)

Rose's no hitter was about to be ruined.

Weaver tossing some straight meat.

Rose back on the mound with a knuckle slurve.

Seeing eye single.

Team Fugate                  Team Erno
