Brolympic 2010 Recap

Brolympics 2010 kicked off spectacularly with Rossello funneling at 9 AM to get things going.

The first event was hockey. Everyone was spent after about 5 minutes into the game. Regulation finished tied and the game went to sudden death. Overtime lasted about 3 seconds as Nate took the faceoff and scored in dramatic fashion.

Home Run Derby was the second event. Most of it was spent recovering and limping around. It was tied going into the last at-bats and Blue would again win late.

4-4 with random 5-5 Basketball was changed to half court (thankfully) and brought about a patented Deluca hook shot and a surprising MVP.

Next up was Horseshoes. The first two games were split. Chris would carry the gray team to their first win in the deciding game. Rossello funneled numerous beers during this event.

Lunch at JoJo's was a welcomed break. Highlights included Dave and the pinball machine, using the women's bathroom, and sneaking a beer in to drink. Mike would quickly earn MVP of lunch, finishing a three foot Boli.

The 6th event was volleyball which was not a big hit. Mike Erno would make the big play with his "dive" attempt to save a point.

I don't remember much about football because we never caught our breath. I do remember Nate catching bombs and a few of us leaving a toe or two on the field.

Next was Corn Hole. The first two games would be split and grey would go up 19-16 in the third game. Lewis would sink the final 6 points as blue won in comback fashion once again. Meanwhile, Rossello would lock up "best (and worst) drink of the day" as he relaxed with a Panther Jooze

Event 8 was bowling in Palmyra. Gray would again jump out and win game one but the blue team led by Motz's breakout performance would come back and win the final two.
Chris would go on to dominate two dozen wings.

Flip cup quickly turned into Erno domination. The last game ended with 2 members of the gray team passed out and Ernos going back to back twice to win it.

The last event was team beer pong with 15 cups a team. Nate would finish it off one last time as he locked up MVP of Brolympics

Weaver would walk home with one last coveted award.

Although, there were certainly others in contention.

And for the closing ceremonies, the day ended appropriately....

Thanks again to everyone for a great and memorable day.

Start the training for 2011!

Last Minute Details

Gentleman,

You have 24 hours until your lives will change for ever. That's right, your Brolympic cherry is about to pop. Don't worry, it will be discrete, I promise not to tell all the other fellas about it in gym class or write about you on the shitter walls.

p.s. - Hope you don't have herpes.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It looks like we have some details to finalize:

  • Look for a poll on the right dealing with team drink minimums per event.
  • We don't want anyone coming from out of town or otherwise to feel like they need to bring booze or drinks. Those that can bring something, bring something, those that can't can just chip in. No biggie. We're men, we figure shit out daily.
  • Plan on staying at Ty's for the night. No one should be driving after the events.
  • Plan on eating before opening ceremonies. There may be light food there, but don't expect a feast.
  • I'm sure there are things I'm forgetting. If you see anything we're missing, go F yourselves please let us know.

Other assorted goodness

BLT's:
Ty has gone and ordered some sweet T-shirts for the 1st Annual Broylmpics. If you are interested in one (and why wouldn't you) bring $20 to help pay.

Location
We will be starting our events over at Lenker Park in West Hanover Twp. (about a 2 minute drive from Ty's) Here are the directions to the Mountainview Swim Club swimming pool beside the park that I pulled off of an online pamphlet for the pool (should be legit):

From I-81: Take Manada Hill/Route 39
exit #77. Turn left onto Rt. 39 if coming
from North; right if coming from South.
Approx. ¼ mile, make right at light onto
Jonestown Road. Follow about 1 mile to
Manor Drive. Make right onto Manor,
pool on left next to Lenker Park.

From Rt. 22 East: Follow to light at
Manor Drive (Jo Jo's Pizza). Turn right
onto Manor Drive going past Jo Jo’s.
Follow thru 2 stop signs. Pool on left next
to Lenker Park.

From Rt. 22 West: Follow to Mountain
Road (Karn's on right). At third light past
Karn's, make left onto (old) Jonestown
Road. Immediately bear right, follow
approx. 1 mile and make left onto Manor
Drive. Pool on left next to Lenker Park.

From memory and based on these directions, the park is in this general area:

ODDS and ENDS:

1. Anyone have access to a door/ big table for beer pong? If not I'll get some plywood, or bring our front door.

2. There was talk of everyone bringing something to eat and a drink of their choice. Chris has offered to bring some donuts for the opening ceremonies breakfast. My wife can be convinced to make a breakfast caserole filled with meats, cheese and egg if anyone would be interested in that. As for food for the rest of the day, we need to have a discussion.

3. A decision needs to be made. Does everyone bring some beer, or do we chip in for a keg?

4. Schedule and more details to follow. Lets get some chatter and discussion going either in the comments section here or in the group emails.
